Sarah Runck

Hi my name is Sarah Runck, I live in Redwood Falls.  I am married to my husband, Gary.  In May we will be married for 15 years.  I have been been blessed with 2 children, Halle is 11 years old and Holden is 8 years old.  I operate a family child care business out of my home.  I have been doing child care since my Halle was 4 months old!  In my spare time I enjoy being with my family-going to the lake, 4-wheeling, family bike rides, Church softball, reading magazines (books take too long), and vegetable and flower gardening.    I am so excited to participate in the One Step at a Time Challenge to better my health, learn proper nutrition and increase my physical exercise with weights.  My husband tells me that he's taking me somewhere for our 15 year wedding anniversary and I want to look great, (little extra motivation for swimsuit season)!!!  I want to lose 8-10 pounds in the 6 week RACC Challenge.  I also want to train for a personal record of under 30 minutes on a 5K run in the summer of 2011.

Heather Anderson

Picture
Hi my name is Heather Anderson.  I'm 24 years old and I live in Morgan with my boyfriend, Brandy Koffler.  I work at KLGR Radio in Redwood Falls and am the assistant girls hockey coach for Redwood Valley.  I enjoy being busy.  I'm on the United Way board and I work out at Jackpot bartending occasionally.

I'm really looking forward to this challenge because I just feel unhealthy.  My mom (Joyce Anderson) participated in the challenge last year and had great success.  I really need a jumpstart to get myself into a routine of working out.  Since I live in Morgan, it's hard for me to talk myself into driving all the way into Redwood to workout.  I don't want to go before work because, lets face it, that's just way to early, and I don't want to go after I get done with hockey practice because I'm just too lazy and tired.

IAnother reason why I wanted to participate in this challenge is because I have a problem with food!!!  I eat WAY too much!  I just love food, what can I say.  With the help of Dorie, I'm going to really focus on portion control.  Lets face it, even though eating a half gallon of ice cream at a time is awesome and fun, it's really bad for you.  So!  Here we go and I hope you tag along to help support us because I really need to be held accountable!

I am married to Marlene for 40 years in December.  We have 8 children together and many grandchildren.  We are both retired.  I also like to collect coins, older ones.

I wanted to participate in the challenge so I can live longer and enjoy life more.  I have had two heart valve replacement surgeries in 7 years.

My goals for this challenge are to loose weight and build muscle.  I also have diabetes so by loosing weight it would help out with that and it would be better for my heart.

Karae Erie

Picture
My name is Karae Erie and my goal for this fitness challenge is two-fold:  To lose 6-8 lbs by the end of the 6 wk period and to be able to finishe a 5k in 26 minutes by May.

I have 3 children and 5 grandchildren the youngest is a sophomore in high school.  I have lived and worked in Redwood Falls for the past 25 years and have been at my present job at the Auction Center for 15 years.  I love to fish (both summer and winter), ride motorcycle ( I own a 2007 Yamaha 1100 V-Star) and run whenever I can--prefer it more in the summer time when I can be outside.

I wanted to participate in this program because I thought it would give me some new insight on achieving my health & fitness goals.

I am looking forward to getting started on the fitness challenge.  I have been working out for a number of years, but I am ready to move ahead & try new things and begin working a little harder toward my goals.  I dont' feel that I will have any "struggles" other than the fact that I need to make sure that I eat something at each meal even though I may not be hungry.  The fact that the fitness center is 24/7 is a great plus because I have no excuse to not get in and workout!
